SURABAYA | Analisasibernews.com – The Deputy Commander of the Indonesian Navy Doctrine, Education, and Training Command (Kodiklatal), Rear Admiral (Laksda) TNI Singgih Sugiarto, officially inaugurated the 34th Career Officer Initial Training Program (Dikmapa PK) of the Indonesian Navy for Fiscal Year 2026 – Sargolan Phase, during a ceremony held at Mulyadi Hall, Kodiklatal Headquarters, Surabaya, on Tuesday (August 4, 2026).

The ceremony marked the beginning of military education for 203 Career Officer candidates, who will undergo a comprehensive training program designed to develop professional, resilient, ethical, and highly competent naval officers committed to safeguarding the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.

Beginning the Journey to Become Indonesian Navy Officers

The Career Officer Initial Training Program (Dikmapa PK) is one of the Indonesian Navy’s strategic education programs aimed at preparing future commissioned officers with the knowledge, leadership skills, military values, and professional competencies required to serve in various operational units.

Throughout the training, participants will receive education covering military leadership, naval doctrine, operational readiness, discipline, and character development.

The Indonesian Navy expects all 203 officer candidates to emerge as capable leaders with integrity, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to the nation.

Becoming a Naval Officer Is Both an Honor and a Responsibility

In a message from Commander of Kodiklatal Lieutenant General (Marine) Nur Alamsyah, delivered by Rear Admiral Singgih Sugiarto, it was emphasized that becoming an Indonesian Navy officer is far more than simply choosing a profession.

According to the Commander, serving as a naval officer is both an honor and a profound responsibility to defend Indonesia’s sovereignty and protect its vast maritime territory.

Given Indonesia’s position as the world’s largest archipelagic nation, naval officers are entrusted with critical responsibilities in maintaining maritime security, national defense, and territorial integrity.

“Becoming an Indonesian Navy officer is not merely a profession, but an honor and a great responsibility in safeguarding the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia,” the Commander stated in his official message.

Mastering the Integrated Fleet Weapon System

The Commander also stressed that every future Indonesian Navy officer must possess the competence to operate and manage the Integrated Fleet Weapon System (Sistem Senjata Armada Terpadu/SSAT) professionally.

Mastery of modern naval technology and integrated defense systems is considered essential to strengthening Indonesia’s maritime defense capabilities.

In addition to technical expertise, officers are expected to demonstrate sound judgment, quick decision-making skills, accountability, and strong leadership in carrying out their missions.
